save energy to save money
Set your thermostat a few degrees lower in the winter and a few degrees higher in the summer to save on heating and cooling costs . Unplug appliances when you're not use them * me alwys don't do thisss . Wash clothes in cold water whenever possible *yess its work
save water to save money
Take shorter showers to reduce your water use . This will lower your water and heating bills too .
less gas = more money and better heal
walk or bike to work . this saves on gas and parking cost . Consider telecommuting if you live far away from your work . Or move closer . Even if this means payig more rent , it could save your money in the long term , Right ?
eat smart
if you eat meat , add one meatless meat a week . Meat cost a lot at supermarket . So , buy locally raised , humane and organic meat , eggs and dairy whenever you can . Whatever you diet , eat low on the fod chain . this is especially true for seafood .
skip the bottled water
Use a water filter to purify tap water instead of buying bottled water . Not only is botted water is expensive but it generates large amounts of container waste . *me always do this . bring a reusable water bottle . *me prefer aluminium rather than plastic with you when you're travelling or at work
think before you buy
Go online to find new or gently used secondhand products . When making purchased make sure you know what good stuff and what isn't .
borrow instead of buying
borrow from library insteadsof buying personal books and movies . This saves money , not to mention the ink and the paper that goes into printing new books . Share your things with your neighbour such as tools or appliances .
keep electronics out of the trash
Keep your cell phones , computers and other eletronics as long as possible . donated or recycle them when the times comes
